Outlook for 2026
The year 2025 was filled with events of major importance: the ending of the Israeli Palestinian war and the rescue of many of the hostages; the continuation of the Russia-Ukraine war; and the Iran Nuclear base strike. New technology along with the rise of artificial intelligence continues to dominate the headlines as well.
What are some things that we should be looking for in the coming year? Five things stand out in this area to keep our eyes on.
1. Will the temporary peace in the Middle East hold?
The end of the Israeli Palestinian War with the ceasefire brokered by President Trump was obviously a major steppingstone to the end of tensions in the Middle East. However, there are still many challenges in the region. Iran, although briefly pushed back with the strike against its nuclear facilities, has shown no plans of stopping their plans to destroy Israel and plunge the Middle East into more chaos. Turkey has continued to move closer to both Russia and Iran while moving away from both Israel and NATO, even though they are a part of NATO. While we can be thankful for the peace that we currently have in the region, we are very much on the razor’s edge of another explosive powder keg if Iran and Turkey continue down this path.
2. Will the Russia-Ukraine war finally end?
This war has dragged on far longer than anyone could have initially anticipated. It has seemingly stood at a standstill for the past year or so. However, casualties continue to pile up on both sides. Until a lasting peace can be reached, Eastern Europe will continue to be a massive hotbed. Russia’s aggression united NATO behind Ukraine. That foundation is shaky at best. How long will it hold? Only time will tell. This war has impacted geo-political relations throughout the globe for years to come.
3. Will we continue to see the West surrender to Islam?
If you had told someone that almost 25 years after the September 11th attack on America a Muslim would become the mayor of New York, they would never have believed you. However, that is exactly where we are with the election of Zohran Mamdani, born in Uganda, who is not only Muslim but is also a radical, progressive democratic socialist.
We have seen Islam continue to push into the West, not through conquest but through immigration. Will this continued push from Islam to overcome the West? Once a bastion of Christianity, how long until Sharia Law is enacted in London, New York or Paris? Will the Western world finally push back? This is a major story to watch in the coming year.
4. How will new technology continue to drive us to the foundation of the Tribulation?
While new technology can be incredibly helpful, it also might be something that leads us down the path to the Tribulation. The creation of things such as digital ids, while not inherently evil themselves, could possibly be used in the future by the Antichrist to control much of the population of the world. The continued use of phones, Ipay, cash apps, etc. could make it very easy for the Antichrist to control the economy of the world and simply shut off people’s money with a single click. What new technologies will be developed this year that could continue us down this path?
5. Will there be a revival in the West or will secularism continue to thrive?
The last 18 months have created several inflection points in the United States in particular but the West as a whole for a chance at revival. Many saw the election of President Trump as a possible kickstart to a major revival. The death of Charlie Kirk and the memorial service watched by hundreds of millions of people with the Gospel presented so clearly also seemed liked a chance for a major spiritual revival. Up to this point, neither of those events have had a lot of spiritual legs to them in terms of leading to a massive revival. Will there ever be a spiritual revival in America or the West or will the drive to secularism continue?
This year might be a critical year in turning the trajectory toward secularism around and toward revival instead.
PRAY: Pray God will move in 2026, both through peace in the world but also through revival in our nation.
